01 · The job

A bill, in about ten seconds

Search the item or scan its barcode, set the quantity, pick the customer if the sale is on credit, choose how they paid, save. The bill prints or goes out on WhatsApp from the same screen. Everything that follows from it — stock going down, the customer's balance going up, the day's sales figure — happens without anyone opening another screen.

02 · Trades

It asks what you sell before it assumes

A kirana shop, a chemist and a hardware store need different tax rates, different units and a different list of HSN codes. Choosing your line of trade when you sign up sets those defaults; there are eleven to choose from, and every one of them is a starting point you can change. A shop that sells in peti and bora is not forced to call everything a piece.

03 · No internet

The network is not part of the sale

Bills are written to the phone first and sent to our servers afterwards. That ordering is the whole design, not a fallback: a customer standing at the counter never waits for a signal, and a shop in a basement market works the same as one on a main road. When the connection comes back, everything queued goes up by itself, and a bill that was sent twice is only applied once.

04 · Money owed

Udhaar that points at a bill

Most credit apps only track a running balance, which answers how much a customer owes but not which bill they were paying off. Here a payment is allocated to the invoices it settles, so a partly paid bill keeps showing what is left on it. Each customer can carry a date you expect to be paid by, and the reminder only appears once that date is near or past.

05 · Staff

The cashier does not see the margins

Add your staff with a role — owner, manager, cashier or auditor — and each one only sees what that role allows. A cashier can bill and take payments without opening reports or purchase prices. Every change to a product, a customer or a bill is recorded with who did it and what it was before, and that record cannot be edited or deleted by anyone, including you.
