HSN codes

HSN codes for a mobile or electronics shop.

Electronics is a trade of many small headings. The phone, its charger, the cable and the power bank are four different codes, and appliances are split by what they do: an AC, a fridge, a fan and a mixer are separate headings. These are the ones a phone or appliance counter bills most.

What you need to know

Using these codes.

01 · Worth knowing

The accessories are not the phone

A charger (8504), a cable (8544), a power bank (8507) and earphones (8518) each have a heading of their own, separate from the phone’s 8517. A bill for a phone with its accessories carries more than one code, one per line.

  • Codes and plain descriptions only
  • No rate is stated for any code
  • Check a rate before you rely on it

02 · On the bill

Where these codes go on a bill

The code goes on each line of a GST tax invoice, beside the item. In BillCountr it is saved on the item and suggested from this list as you add it; it prints on bills from the Android app once the HSN field is switched on in your bill settings. Bills made on a computer do not print it yet.

  • One code per line, beside the item
  • Suggested as you add the item
  • Saved once, on the item
  • Printed when the HSN field is on
