Cloud-first and offline-first disagree about where the truth lives

myBillBook is a cloud product: the server holds the shop and the app is a window onto it. BillCountr inverts that — the phone holds the shop and the server is a copy. It sounds like a technical detail and it is not. It decides what happens at 7pm in a market where the tower is congested: one design waits, and the other has already printed the bill.

A shorter list, chosen rather than unfinished

myBillBook carries staff attendance and payroll, CRM, loyalty programmes, bulk SMS, WhatsApp marketing and more than twenty-five reports. BillCountr has none of the first five and a handful of the last. That is a position, not a roadmap gap: every feature added to a product used by someone who is not comfortable with smartphones is another thing between them and a bill, and we would rather the app stayed learnable in an afternoon.

Credit that can be explained bill by bill

When a customer disputes what they owe, the only thing that settles it is showing which purchases make up the figure. BillCountr allocates a payment to the invoices it clears, so every rupee of a balance points at a dated bill with items on it, and a part-paid bill keeps showing its remainder instead of dissolving into one number.

04 · History

A finalized bill cannot be edited, by anyone

A bill keeps the settings it was calculated with, so changing your tax setup tomorrow does not quietly restate what you gave someone last month. Mistakes are cancelled and re-billed, with the original kept and watermarked; returns are credit notes in their own numbered series. The activity log records who changed what and what it was before, and nobody can delete it — including the owner.
